The Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC) intends to conduct a survey for biodiesel and its by-product to enable the firm establish market for potential customers.
The firm’s biodiesel plant, which has a production capacity of one million litres per annum, produces diesel from jatropha curacas derived oil and soya bean.
According to a statement availed to the pressl yesterday, the study will ,among other things, help the firm conduct a market demand survey for potential clients regarding their product preference, location for product distribution and a cost analysis.
“The aim of the study is to provide information regarding Zambia’s biodiesel and its by-products market potential by clearly identifying potential clients and their estimation product uptake,” the statement reads.
In its quest to support the growth of CEC’s renewable energy business, the study will also help the firm examine the willingness and ability of the market to cover the transportation cost of biodiesel and its by-products.
CEC says the study will further help identify major market players, their key differentiators and what drives their sales and performance.
