Control Systems Technology (CST), a global provider of high-accuracy belt weighing systems and bulk materials measurement solutions, has officially announced their strategic distributorship partnership at Electra Mining Africa of Northwold Investments as its accredited local partner and distributor for Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Malawi.
The agreement was signed by Lauren Burrell, Managing Director of CST, and Alinani Simumba, Director Operations of Northwold Investments, marking one of the event’s most significant African–Australian METS collaborations.
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for the region, as mining activity in Zambia and the DRC continues to accelerate, driven by rising global demand for copper, cobalt and other critical minerals.
It unites two long-standing industry leaders to form a measurement powerhouse.
In addition, the partnership expands CST’s support capability across Central and Southern Africa, providing mining and bulk materials handling operations with direct access to CST’s full range of belt weighing systems and OEM spare parts through a trusted local presence. Mining clients will benefit from on-the-ground support delivered by Northwold Investments personnel, together with access to CST’s Remote Care support services.
This combined support model provides customers with responsive local service, technical guidance and ongoing assistance to help maintain warranty requirements, quality assurance standards and long-term system performance, all delivered through one accountable partner.
This reduces downtime and limits reconciliation disputes, strengthening commercial integrity from pit to port.
Over the next 12 to 24 months, CST will deliver ongoing technical training for Northwold Investments engineers and technicians across its range of belt weighing systems and technologies. Both organisations will also work closely with the Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) to support compliance with recognised local and international metrology standards.
