CEC supporting young minds through engineering

Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) in partnership with Launcher Engineers Hub, successfully supported the December 2025 Kids Robotics Club held from 8th to 12th December 2025.

The initiative was designed to inspire young learners by exposing them to practical engineering concepts, with a particular focus on robotics, coding, and drone technologies.

According to the company, the primary objectives of the Kids Robotics Club were to introduce children to foundational concepts in robotics and engineering, provide hands-on experience in building, coding, and experimentation and expose participants to real-world engineering applications and career pathways, particularly in drone technology.

In addition, encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork among young learners.

CEC played a key role in the success of the programme by providing technical expertise and industry exposure.

Two CEC drone specialists participated in the event, delivering demonstrations and interactive sessions that covered basic principles of drone operation, safety considerations and regulatory awareness and practical applications of drones across various industries.

The career opportunities available within the drone and broader engineering space.

The collaboration with Launcher Engineers Hub ensured that the programme content was age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with STEM learning best practices.

The Kids Robotics Club achieved several positive outcomes: increased interest and enthusiasm for engineering and technology among participants, improved basic understanding of robotics, coding, and drone technology and enhanced confidence in problem-solving and collaborative work.

Early exposure to potential STEM career pathways, particularly within the energy and technology sectors.

The December 2025 Kids Robotics Club successfully demonstrated the value of early STEM engagement in nurturing future engineers and innovators.

Through CEC’s technical support and partnership with Launcher Engineers Hub, the programme provided meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that inspired young minds and broadened their understanding of engineering possibilities.
