Prospect Resources’ first assays from infill diamond drilling at Nyungu Central have produced shallow, high grade intersections.
Sam Hosack, Prospect’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer said the company is excited to have the flow of infill results from Nyungu Central underway.
“While the regional backlog in assay laboratories has been frustrating, as previously announced we now have a process in place to expedite the receipt of our Phase 3 results,” said Hosack.
He said the first infill hole at Nyungu Central can rightly be described as a cracking result.
“By regional standards, the intercepts in NCDD040 represent robust mineralised widths at very high (+1% Cu grades). It is also pleasing to see them accompanied by strong cobalt and gold grades.”
According to the company, the zone to the south-east of Nyungu Central continues to deliver, with the additional extensional success contained in this release further growing the potential for delineating significant new tonnage in this area.
“It is also exciting to soon have rigs transitioning to testing of key large-scale regional prospects, including Chipimpa and Kamafamba. A key objective of the Phase 3 drilling this year was to validate the tenure-wide potential at Mumbezhi, and deliver meaningful new discoveries outside of Nyungu Central, Kabikupa and West Mwombezhi.”
Meanwhile further assays from extensional diamond drilling also continue to deliver high-grade copper intercepts from the zone immediately to the south-east of Nyungu Central
So far, 32, Phase 3 diamond holes now completed at Nyungu Central and four diamond drill rigs are currently operating on site, three at Nyungu Central and one at Kabikupa; with one rig moving shortly to the regional Chipimpa prospect, and another moving to the Kamafamba prospect area later in October.
Mumbezhi Scoping Study remains on track for completion and release in Q1 2027.
