As part of its contribution to the City’s clean up exercise, CEC has donated various materials to the Kitwe City Council.
Totaling over K220, 000.00, the donation is timely, in the wake of the cholera outbreak in Lusaka and other parts of the country.
The first donation, a response to the anti-cholera clean up drive was valued at K100, 000.00 comprised K30,000 worth of fuel for the local authority’s heavy-duty equipment, 500 cases of mineral water and 200 pieces each of personal protective clothing which included gum boots, leather gloves, work suits and dust masks, all valued at K70,000.00.
The second donation is concrete pavers and sand, worth K125,000 is a contribution towards the City’s walkways paving project.
Benny Simukoko, Head- Projects and Support Services reiterated CEC’s commitment to supporting the local authority in its service delivery.
He also praised the longstanding relationship that the company has with the Council.
Christopher Kang’ombe, Kitwe Mayor and Binwell Mpundu District Commissioner expressed gratitude over CEC’s gesture to support the clean-up exercise and the fight against cholera.
